Confirmation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services (Senate Roll Call Vote 52, Feb. 13, 2025)
How they voted
Yes
Why it's spineless

Hyde-Smith has spent years demanding that HHS answer pro-life litmus tests — in 2024 she co-signed a letter demanding Biden's HHS withdraw a rule she said steered taxpayer dollars to abortion providers. Yet she voted YES on a nominee whose abortion record was so erratic that pro-life groups and Mike Pence's organization opposed him. Her one consistent standard for health leadership turned out to be whose administration the nominee served.

Caught in their own words

To think we have a nominee from President Biden that has zero experience in any healthcare field. His experience is filing lawsuits to go against anything that is pro-life. And as the AG in California, he used that position to do that there. He will use it here.
