Cynthia M. Lummis — YES on RFK Jr. for HHS Secretary

Bill / measure
Confirmation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services (Senate Roll Call Vote 52, Feb. 13, 2025)
How they voted
Yes
Why it's spineless

Lummis took to the Senate floor before the vote to vouch that Kennedy would bring "honest, unbiased, and trustworthy scientific research" to HHS — her own stated condition for support. Kennedy then fired the CDC's vaccine advisory committee, moved to restrict vaccine access, and broke the very pledges extracted during confirmation. She asked for science she could trust and confirmed the man who spent twenty years telling America not to trust it.

Caught in their own words

D.C. bureaucrats are once again putting politics ahead of the facts when implementing the law.
